To Those Who Struggle (A Poem)

I see the beauty that you call ugly,
The scars of the past
healed by your own actions,
the love for self
that you think needs to hide.
In your eyes
I see the stories
ashamed to be told;
the climb from rock bottom
conquering the ugly side of self
cleaning your soul.
I see your struggles staring back at me
and all I can say,
“You are loved.”
You can connect with me.
I see the pain behind your eyes,
but you are courageous and strong.
You have survived this long.
Now with serenity
You can attempt to thrive
and beyond your beauty
beyond your strength,
I plead you to know
You are loved.

Among The Garden (A Poem)

Do not stay too long
among the flowers of the field.
Do not linger at the garden’s rose.
My heart waits for you,
but not there.

I am not a rose,
not a flower.
Although pretty and fragrant
their beauty wilts and withers too soon.
Vanity won’t nourish your soul
or calm your nerves.
Charm is a Venus flytrap
alluring but harmful

So do not stay among the garden
while your love awaits your arrival.

Makes Me Beautiful

ME 152

What makes me beautiful? What is pleasing to the senses?

You may answer my curves. I do have them and the contrasting peaks and valleys are pleasing to the eyes. Yet, I believe that the strength hidden within the curves of my body are more beautiful than the outward appearance. You see my body hides its toughness and endurance behind my hour-glass form.

Perhaps you believe that my eyes are what makes me beautiful as they sparkle with blue hues. I could agree with you as I do think that my eyes are beautiful. Still what makes them beautiful is the mind and heart that is behind them. It is the life and love that shines out of them.

My smile, lips and mouth are also physical features that could be pretty by themselves. They are brought into beauty by how they are used. My smile shows the happiness that lies within my soul. My lips and mouth are only beautiful because of the encouraging words and unique thoughts that come from within.

You see my mind, soul, and heart are what makes me beautiful in my eyes. My outward appearance in beautiful because it shines what is inside.

Now that I answered what makes me beautiful I ask you, “What makes you beautiful?”

Blessed (A Poem)

poetry

I work all day
run errands on my free days
and I am blessed.
I see the benefits of my striving
I the fruits of my labor.

I walked down the warm beach
with the setting sun
giving off the warm happy light
telling every creature that they are loved.
I see animals playing
people loving
and families growing closer together.
I am blessed.

What did I do to earn
the beauty of the sun reflecting on the sea,
the warm crisp scene
being painted by the sun, sand and rocks
the smiling strangers who stay
and those who happily jog on by.
What could I have done
to see the sheer beauty of cliffs
as the sun turns the ordinary into a master piece
earth is a work of art
and so clearly seen
when the sun starts to hug the horizon
and glistens off the sea.
I am blessed.

I am so blessed
to be able to see
appreciating all the wonders around
and live in a world so beautiful
being able to feel warmth
and notice love.
I am so blessed
to be able to live my life.

A Poem from Top Searches

poetry

Some of you may know that I sometimes enjoy writing poems using what people search for. This poem is another inspired from the search.

I’m just another dreamer

wishing to get inspired

in the same place

where I find guidance

to make a change for the better.

Who am I?

I am a poem in a person’s body

one of those gym people

and lover  of life,

who sees the beauty in inspiration

who guidance in the struggle the world gives me.

Who am I?

I’m just another dreamer

Poetic reading (No Mold)

I have decided to record poem readings. My first one recorded is the last poem I wrote (No Mold). I have posted the first draft of the poem on this blog but have edited it since. Here is the version I used for this video.

No Mold

Oh sad and crumpling world

where the non-judgmental judge,

where those who fight for the future

live in the past,

and where beauty is

as fragile as a single word.

What a poor world

where beauty and art

can only be seen striped of dignity,

where nonconformist conforms,

and integrity is torn from morals.

What a sad, sad world

where one shouts, “Be who you are,”

as they push you into a mold.

Can you not see my beauty?

do you not understand my soul?

I am not simply a body.

I do not need your mold.

Yes, what a sad, crumpling world.

It breaks my very being,

so I will walk away.

And stand where others will fall.

see the beauty in dignity,

art in the unmodified.

For I do not judge those who judge

do not condemn those who condemn

and I love all.

No Mold

Oh sad and crumpling world

where the non-judgmental judge,

where those who fight for the future

live in the past,

and where beauty is

as fragile as a single word.

What a poor pitiful world

where beauty and art

can only be seen striped of dignity,

where nonconformist conforms,

and integrity is torn from away from morals.

What a sad, sad world

where one shouts, “Be who you are,”

as they push you into a mold.

Can you not see my beauty?

do you not understand my soul?

I am not simply a body.

I do not need your mold.

Yes, what a sad, pitiful, crumpling world.

It is a world that breaks my very being,

so I will walk away.

I will continue to stand where others will fall.

I will see the beauty in dignity,

art in the unmodified,

and be at peace,

because I do not judge those who judge

do not condemn those who condemn

and love all.

Feb. 1 beauty

I sit on the cliffs of California in the warm winter’s sun. It’s only February 1st and most of the country is covered in snow or at least cold. However, I am sitting in a t-shirt with my shoes off enjoying the sun warming my skin and the fresh ocean breeze. The ocean’s waves tickle the cliffs, rocks and the shore that surrounds me. I hear giggles from girls swimming near by and can watch healthy people job by. I sit and watch the beauty of nature and people intermingle. I sit and realize how amazingly beautiful life can be if you take time to watch it walk by. I realize and remember why I came back and why this spot among all other spots in the world is my own paradise. I can breathe in this spot and watch so much life dance around me on a warm winter day.
