Never Repeat (a poetry reading)

I'll Wait: A Throwback Video

Back in 2013 I wrote and posted Never Repeat. The next year I did a poetry reading of it. I was then going to put it in To Love, but as I edited it and focused the book on the love the poem didn’t fit anymore. Now I get to share it with you here, again.

Never repeat
not a single word
only write your heart,
the soul deep inside.
Let out one song
singing it loud
be proud
of the depths that are felt
dreams while live.
Remember this day
happens but once so
shine light with smiles,
cherish love
and see everything;
never repeating
not a single word.

Greek Yogurt (A Poem)

poetry

Yes, a poem about Greek yogurt.
A delicious poem
filled with memories
and thick creamy goodness.

This is a poem of love
that sticks on your tongue
slow dissolving, but never forgotten.

A poem about the lasting taste of honey
and a hug of comfort.
Healthy because of it’s favor
and wonderful because of it’s flavor.

Scoop me out some of this poem
so that I can remember,
the times when it was just a food
and the times when it was more.
Give me the reminder of a helping hand
and moments with my friend.

Yes, this is a poem about Greek yogurt
which fills me with joy
and sticks to my spoon.
It reminds me of a far away life
and makes me happy where I am now in life.
Yes, this thick and creamy
delicious and dreamy
healthy wonderful, some times a snack
other times a meal,
memory inducing and always honey filled
food is a poem in my heart.

I hope you smiled because of this. I did when I was writing it.

Feb. 1 beauty

I sit on the cliffs of California in the warm winter’s sun. It’s only February 1st and most of the country is covered in snow or at least cold. However, I am sitting in a t-shirt with my shoes off enjoying the sun warming my skin and the fresh ocean breeze. The ocean’s waves tickle the cliffs, rocks and the shore that surrounds me. I hear giggles from girls swimming near by and can watch healthy people job by. I sit and watch the beauty of nature and people intermingle. I sit and realize how amazingly beautiful life can be if you take time to watch it walk by. I realize and remember why I came back and why this spot among all other spots in the world is my own paradise. I can breathe in this spot and watch so much life dance around me on a warm winter day.
