Tick tock goes the clock
as the waves rolls in
time may fly
or time may stop
the waves crashes on the shore either way.

Tick tock goes the clock
as the sun shines on
time may fly
or time may stop
the sun will heat the sand either way.

Tick tock goes the clock
it's far far away
time may fly
or time may stop
we won't pay attention either way.

In late January 2021, I published my poetry book Garden of Poems. It is filled with poetry from 2013-2020. “Goes The Clock” is an excerpt from the book.

Differences, An Acrylic Painting Of Mine.

Write Up:

This is an older painting of mine that I painted in 2017. I was feeling lonely, so I went to my paints. You’ll notice that this painting has 5 blue flowers, 5 bees, and then 1 large red rose. The rose doesn’t have her bee though. It seemed like everyone was paired off except for me. That doesn’t mean that I won’t bloom and that doesn’t mean that the painting should be sad. It is a simple fact, which is why the background is so bright and cheerful.

Abraham’s Faith Confirmed: Bible Retold Short Story

Bible Retold Short Stories is a series where I retell Bible stories in my own words. These are for entertainment purposes and to help me work on my writing skills.

Genesis 22:1-19

This is the story of how Abraham’s faith was confirmed in a really intense way. Abraham was an old man when his wife, Sara, gave birth to their son Isaac. God promised this son to them in order for Abraham’s descendants to become a great nation.

Abraham was even older when God sent a huge test to Abraham. God came to Abraham and told him to take Isaac, his only son, who Abraham loved, and sacrifice him on a mountain as a burnt offering.

If Abraham refused, the author didn’t record it. Instead, the next morning he rose early, got everything ready, and left with two servant men and Isaac. Isaac was most likely a teenager.

When they got to the mountain, Abraham told the servants to stay where they were with the donkey they brought.

Abraham then gave the wood for the burnt offering to Isaac to carry, and they went on their way. While they were walking Isaac asked, “We have the fire and wood. Where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

Abraham answered, “God will provide the lamb.”

They reached the place where God told Abraham to build the altar, and he built it. Abraham and Isaac still did not see the lamb for the sacrifice.

Once the altar and wood in place up, Abraham bound Isaac and put him on the altar. Isaac was not a child he could have fought back, but he trusted his father, just like his father trusted God.

Abraham then took the knife. He was ready to slay his beloved son, because God told him to.

A single moment before, the Angel of the Lord called out to him and told Abraham not to hurt Isaac. God saw his fear and faith, since he was going to give Isaac, his only son who he deeply loved, to God. Abraham was holding nothing back from God.

Abraham then looked up and saw a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. He went and got the ram. They offered the ram as a burnt offering instead of his son. Abraham then named the place, “The Lord will provide.”

The Angel of the Lord then called down to Abraham. He said, “This is what the Lord says ‘because you were going to do what I said and did not withhold your beloved son from me, I will bless you. I will multiply your descendants. Your descendants will be like the stars in the sky and the sand on the shores. They shall be a nation that blesses the world, because you have obeyed me.’”

Abraham and Isaac then returned to the servants and went back home.

My “Flowers and Hearts Portrait” painting started out as the actor Zachary Levi but then I got the nose wrong and the painting went a different direction. It was fun to paint and when I didn’t like how a few areas came out I just added some happy little flowers and hearts to make it a complete painting.

February 2021 Monthly Update

Yes, I am super delayed in posting the February 2021 monthly update to the site. I did post it on time on YouTube, but it fell through the cracks for posting to the site. It’s better late than never right? Hopefully, that is the case.

The main update is that in February I started to look for an outside job to support my art business for a bit. Due to this shift and planning for my future I realized that I need to narrow in my focus with my art business stuff too.

For my writing I will be focused on book publishing. This means I will be focused on novels and poetry books, rather then blog posts, articles, and freelance writing.

With my visual art, I will still be painting. However, I’ll be more focused on creating catchall bowls and working on a new side project with NFTs. I will be using another name for the cryptoart/ NFTs.

Here are a few examples of the catchall bowls I’ve been working on.

Wonderful Ice Cream: A Poem

Ice cream was a big part of my childhood and part of my adulthood for that matter. My family will get it on summer vacations and whenever I’m visiting I’ll go to the local Ice cream shop. When I was in middle school I would meet my friend there and get some ice cream before we went on some other adventure. I have a lot of wonderful memories around ice cream, so thought it would be wise to share my love in poem form.

Summer days with their warm breezes
brings to me sweet memories
of delicous, wonderful ice cream.
When the air is hot,
when the air is cold,
I partake in the loving treat.
The taste of sugary cream
reminds me of wonderful days
carefree and filled with love.
Whether bought on the side of the street
or made with love and our own hands
smiles would blossom and bloom.
Joy and happiness always will come around
When the smell of ice cream is in the air.

Throwback: An Artist (An Original Monologue)

Back in 2015, I wrote a monologue called “Artist” I then performed and recorded it. That video is posted on YouTube, but you can find it below also. Along with the orginial monologue.

Artist

I want to boldly tell you; I am an artist. I’m sure you already knew that or at least suspected. I mean how can anyone really hide their creativity? I know I’ve tried to hide or ignore my creative side, wanting to be normal. I yearned for a quiet mind that could simply observe the world and did not have a need to share its beauty.

Yes, there was a time I wanted to be normal, but not any more. An ordinary life in no life for me and if it seems like my life is just like yours ask me what I’m thinking about. For you see I have worlds and universes living in my head. My mind is filled with lands of poetry, worlds of paintings, and many stories in many different universes. They are all just waiting to be created.

When I am at my day job tapping the keys of my computer part of my mind may be trapping dragons to get to the keys of a prison to rescue some royalty. While I’m driving home I am most likely also involved in an elaborate love affair that will tragically end when I park my car. If I am watching the sunset I am also memorizing the colors in hopes that I could paint it one day.

You see my mind is not a quiet place most of the time, which now I love. It makes my life extraordinary in an ordinary world. This is why I must boldly tell you; I am an artist. I’m sure you already knew that or at least suspected.

Different Paths: A Poem

Different Paths is a poem about how there are different options in life. Sometimes it is confusing and you may choose the wrong path but God can and will guide you.

Paths open.
They may wind away
or lead you home.
One may desire you to stay
while others push you to go.
Only a guide will truly know
what is right and what is true,
so trust the guide.
He will lead you safely home.

Pour paintings have been a trend that interests me. They are all so unique, so I did one. Of course, when I was done it didn’t look like something that I could call mine. I decided to add a border of pink and silver. That is what it needed.
