Patter Of Rain: A Poem

Patter Of Rain
Listen to the patter of the rain.
It feeds the thirday earth,
changing the dried tan field
to a plush green meadow;
a blanket of love.
Turned on a faucet above
caused life to bloom
so shortly after its gloom.
It washes away the past
giving hope to thefuture.
All is right with the world
so listen to the patter of the rain.

Rivers and Ocean Breeze

Rivers and Ocean Breeze was originally a song that I edited into a poem. It is a romantic rhyming poem that blends elements of nature and fantasy.

I'm holding you tight
in my own mind,
knowing one day
you will be mine.

Let the rivers and roads
lead you home.
I've lassoed the moon
and it waits for you.

Let the ocean breeze
call you close to me.
We'll live in a sweet melody
and I'll share my love with you.

Let your calling dreams
guide you near to me.
Near or far,
no matter where you are,
please be guided to me.

I'm holding you tight
in my own mind,
knowing one day
you will be mine.

Unnatural Nature

poetry
In a sea of knowledge
I’m surrounded by boats not fish
technology in the place of nature.
Pushing manual buttons
to answer virtual questions.
Even as I yearn for true life
I watch a mechanical fountain
as it pushes recycled water.

Electricity and lighted monitors
are my visual inputs,
with photo-shopped beauties plastered
all around the two-dimensions of my screen;
All the while knowing nature is so much more
fulfilling, beautiful, and inspiring.
It’s so sad that the shackles
of modern life keeps me coming
to the sea of knowledge
where I push mechanical buttons.

This was a very short poem, but I lengthened it. Let me know what you think and have a wonderful day.

Talk (a Ghazal poem)

poetry
Ghazal

A Ghazal is a poem that is made up of an odd numbered chain of couplets, where each couplet is an independent poem. It should be natural to put a comma at the end of the first line. The Ghazal has a refrain of one to three words that repeat, and an inline rhyme that precedes the refrain. Lines 1 and 2, then every second line, has this refrain and inline rhyme, and the last couplet should refer to the authors pen-name… The rhyming scheme is AA bA cA dA eA etc.

In a meadow I walk
with a friend I do talk.

Among the blooming flowers,
amidst tall bladed grass we talk.

Swept in a fantasy land
our imaginations are explored as we talk.

In a field I walk
with a friend I do talk.

While we converse
we explore all things about talk.

How can language be used
what ways can we talk?

We tell each other about fantasy lands
and let our imaginations talk.

We describe the flowers among us
and hear the words of the grass that we talk.

In open and in nature I walk
with a friend I do talk.

I’m not sure if I did this right. What do you think?

Forest Painting

I painted a little forest area and recorded myself while doing so. Here is the sped up video, that is available on youtube. I also have two other paintings that I recorded and sped up.

Here is some more information about the video and song that is playing in the back ground.

This a sped up version of me painting a forest, which is where the title “Forest Painting” comes from. It took me a little over an hour to paint this piece and is one of the very few forest paintings I have done.
The song in the background is O.A.R.’s song, “If Only She Knew.”
It is off their 2001 album Risen. You can find more information on O.A.R. on their website.

Happy Camera

Redwood

I recently moved back to California and took a walk in the redwood forest. I was such an amazing walk and I loved it. Being out in nature with my friends was a great way to spend my first few days in California.  The beauty that surrounded us was breath taking and awe-inspiring.

The most surprising thing to me on the walk was my camera. The lighting was perfect for picture taking and the subject, the trees, were beautiful. I did not want to carry my big professional camera so decided to bring my tiny cannon point and shoot camera. That is why I was surprised with what came out. It was a relatively cheap camera that  gave me amazing pictures.

Here are some more of the pictures taken that day.

Feb. 1 beauty

I sit on the cliffs of California in the warm winter’s sun. It’s only February 1st and most of the country is covered in snow or at least cold. However, I am sitting in a t-shirt with my shoes off enjoying the sun warming my skin and the fresh ocean breeze. The ocean’s waves tickle the cliffs, rocks and the shore that surrounds me. I hear giggles from girls swimming near by and can watch healthy people job by. I sit and watch the beauty of nature and people intermingle. I sit and realize how amazingly beautiful life can be if you take time to watch it walk by. I realize and remember why I came back and why this spot among all other spots in the world is my own paradise. I can breathe in this spot and watch so much life dance around me on a warm winter day.

Pond

Mirrored pond
With rushing waters underneath
Cal and gentle
And passion beneath.

Flowing to a babbling brook
Talking about love and life.
Over rocks and mud
Speaking of time and strife.

Continuing on to a river gentle
A bit confused but still moving on.
Moving towards an unseen destination
But alway remembering the starting pond.
