Come to me
o ocean breeze.
Gently Dance your way
under and over the midnight sea.
Come take away
all my stress
release my anxiety.
Come to me
oh ocean breeze.
I work all day
run errands on my free days
and I am blessed.
I see the benefits of my striving
I the fruits of my labor.
I walked down the warm beach
with the setting sun
giving off the warm happy light
telling every creature that they are loved.
I see animals playing
people loving
and families growing closer together.
I am blessed.
What did I do to earn
the beauty of the sun reflecting on the sea,
the warm crisp scene
being painted by the sun, sand and rocks
the smiling strangers who stay
and those who happily jog on by.
What could I have done
to see the sheer beauty of cliffs
as the sun turns the ordinary into a master piece
earth is a work of art
and so clearly seen
when the sun starts to hug the horizon
and glistens off the sea.
I am blessed.
I am so blessed
to be able to see
appreciating all the wonders around
and live in a world so beautiful
being able to feel warmth
and notice love.
I am so blessed
to be able to live my life.
I walk with sand on my feet
with water rushing my toes.
My eyes point down
I lose reality
picturing a warm hand to hold
contradicting the cold ocean water
happy smiles on his face
as we silently walk in companionship
joining our hearts with friendship
and learning love through our eyes.
I walk with sand on my feet
with water brushing my toes
and dream a dream
I never really wanted to be mine.
The ocean breeze gently blew as the waves crashed rhythmically against the shore dragging and pushing sand to its will. Clouds covered the sun keeping the sand cool and damp from the night’s rain storm.
A dog and his boy stand near the water waiting for another crab to hunt, before the boy makes a friend and walks away with the large leashed dog following.
Perhaps down the beach they will find more prey or other new friends. The only thing the boy knew is that the beach was beautiful, long and he could spend the entire day exploring, playing or hunting for crabs.
He would eventually go swimming, but the waves will be larger with more of a risk, turning the simple activity of walking out deep enough into an adventure, then the sun would be lower in the sky and it will be time to end the day at the beach.Â
All weekend I have been thinking about this blog. What would I write? What should I write? What did I do this week to take steps towards my dreams? Did I actually do anything that made me dreamward bound? I did not have an answer to these questions, until today.
I realized that I did not do anything to move me towards my dreams, instead I enjoyed my time. I worked hard, hung out with friends, went to my improv group, was able to take two friends out to dinner one night, and went out with my “Friend-Family” another night. I was able to celebrate birthdays with two close friends and had fun. Instead of focusing on what my life could be, I simply enjoyed my life as it is.
Now that being said I did have free time today and did want to do something artistic. I decided to paint for a little bit. I also really enjoyed how the first recording of my painting went, so I recorded the painting I did today. The only issue I had was that my camera died within 10 minutes of painting. Thankfully, I had my phone with me and was able to record it on that. Â I have posted it on youtube, and placed it right below for your viewing pleasure. I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think. (The song that is playing in the background is MercyMe’s “Move.” which is off their Generous Mr. Lovewell.
