Blessed Are ( A Poem)

Blessed are the broken

for they get to be fix.

Blessed are the outcasts

for they’ll learn true love.

Blessed are the reformed hurtful

they’ll know forgiveness.

Blessed are those with a surrendered and dirty heart

they are in the Lord’s arms.

Blessed are those with clean hearts

the Lord will call them home.

Blessed are those who bless others

they will shine the Lord’s love.

Blessed are those who forgiveness

they will share the Lord’s compassion.

Blessed are you

for you are beautifully alive.

Not Lost (A Poem)

I am not lost
Yet I will journey on.
My path leads into the depths,
into the forest of understandings;
Like a tree rooted in family
but growing towards the sky with each passing experience.
A bird who has freedom to fly
still returns to her nest.

I walk on, learning more of me,
seeing different sides.
I am a diamond with a multitude of facets,
a puzzle I’m piecing together.
I am not lost,
yet I still journey on.

Shoe (A Poem)

I once had a shoe.
Well, I had two.
The one that stayed lost her boo.
I do not know what to do.
I think it got on a plane and flew.
It must have gone all the way to Timbuktu.
I looked high and low, even under a tutu,
but nowhere could I find my other shoe.

Relax Your Face (A Poem)

Let the sun shine on your face
feel my warm embrace,
as I smile and say
‘You can breathe
life is not a race.’

Relax with who you are.
Do not set high the bar.
You have your dreams,
you hold tight to your standards
yet true happiness and joy is not that far.

So let the sun shine on your face
and relax with who you are.

Chosen Not Given (A Poem)

I grew with beliefs of giving;
dreams will be given.
A future worth living will be given.
My faith and belief will be given.
Who I am was already given.

My eyes opened from slumber
and I realized I was sleeping,
so I chose, worked, and took;
I chose my dream,
worked towards my future,
took my beliefs
and chose my faith.
And I chose to work towards being me.
No one gave me the identity I now hold.
I chose it and stand firm
in my changing self.

My Optimism (A Poem)

The glass is half full
because I’ve filled it.
There is room for you.
Fill it
or drink the freshwater.
I know how to pour
into my own glass heart.

I’ll dust the melancholy off my heart,
pull back the curtains of gloom
to see the sun of joy is shining;
open the windows of discontent
welcoming the breeze of gratitude
and fill my glass half full
or more.

I Will Know (A Poem)

When I see you
I will know.
You’re face will light up
and I will glow.
Our broken pieces
will match together;
not the same,
but will act as a tether.
We will not be perfect
but our love will fit.
When we find each other
the flame of love will be lit

Speak I’ll Retreat (A Poem)

Speak I'll Retreat (A Poem) poetry image

I want to speak,
but I’ll let you go.
One word of mine will escape
before it’s your words that flow.
Each time I shrink.
I retreat.
I see your need
to be loved
to be heard.
I want to speak,
but instead I’ll simply retreat.

To Those Who Struggle Visual poetry picture

To Those Who Struggle (A Poem)

I see the beauty that you call ugly,
The scars of the past
healed by your own actions,
the love for self
that you think needs to hide.
In your eyes
I see the stories
ashamed to be told;
the climb from rock bottom
conquering the ugly side of self
cleaning your soul.
I see your struggles staring back at me
and all I can say,
“You are loved.”
You can connect with me.
I see the pain behind your eyes,
but you are courageous and strong.
You have survived this long.
Now with serenity
You can attempt to thrive
and beyond your beauty
beyond your strength,
I plead you to know
You are loved.
