God Shows Up blog series

Introduction to God Shows Up

To those who do not believe in God He may be a fictional character, distant, or dead. To those who have experienced the real and true God He is very much alive, real, and desires a relationship with His followers. Those who believe in God are His children and each have a different experience with Him.

I have experienced the God of the Bible, and I have a relationship with him. I know He hears my prayers, because He has answered them in His perfect timing.

For a while I’ve wanted to share the love I feel and the experiences I’ve had with God. I was not sure how I would do this. What would be the best way of spreading God’s love? How should I explain the truths of the Bible that I know first hand?

I finally asked an important question. What do people I know want to read? The answer was that at least one person wanted to read about the experiences I’ve had with God.

In this series I will start with that idea, but also expand it. I will be writing stories of answered prayers, times God showed up in my life, and what my spiritual life looks like. Eventually I may even branch out and write about God showing up in other believers’ lives.

Some weeks I will focus on telling a story about my experience, other weeks I will focus on explaining an important area of my spiritual life, and finally other weeks there will be a combination of those styles.

I do hope you enjoy the story of how I see God show up and please, let me know what you think.

Thank you for reading.

I Can’t Lie Down (a song)

I can't lie down

You wonder and you ask me
Does your hope fly up in the sky?
Do you need your dreams to hide from reality?
Can you stop now from chasing your wants?

You see
I could give up and I could lie down.
I could turn away if you showed me how.
I would watch t.v. or read the whole night long
my time would be only all mine.

Yes,
I could give up and I could lie down
I could turn away if you showed me how
My nights would be free, my weekends filled with sleep.
And Alcohol, well it would be my best friend.

I really could give up and I could lie down
I could turn away. Please showed me how.
Life would be much easier, easier for me.
Easier to catch a breath, easier to do anything,
but that’s not me.
That cannot be me.
I am my dreams, not this reality.

I guess
I can’t give up and I can’t lie down.
I can’t turn away, I simply don’t know how.
I have to stand up and I have to fight.
Have to stay my path, that only seems right.

I will paint my thoughts and write what’s in my heart.
My time will belong to my dreams.

I can’t give up and I can’t lie down.
I can’t turn away, I simply don’t know how.
I have to stand up and I have to fight.
Have to stay my path, that only seems right.

My nights will be filled, my weekends hugged by hope.
And I will dance where my dream may go.

Because
I can’t give up and I can’t lie down.
I can’t turn away, I simply don’t know how.
I have to stand up and I have to fight.
Have to stay my path, that only seems right.

I don’t typically write songs as you may know, so getting a finished song done is tricky for me. I believe the words are almost there, which is why I’m sharing them with you. I am still working on the tune and notes.

Please let me know what you think of it. Any and all feedback is welcomed.

Five minutes more ( A Morning Poem)

encouragement

Writing Prompt
How do you wake up? Do you spring out of bed, almost always fully rested or do you hit snooze? What is it like for you to wake up on a typical morning?

Five more minutes,
please just five more minutes,
well five or ten;
fifteen minutes tops.
I just need to be curled up
in my nest of blanks and pillows.
Let me relax for a little longer
I promise I will wake up
I will get up and shower.
I just need to be in bed
just a little big longer.
If I could I would
just stay in bed
with my covers over my head,
but no I promised.
I will wake,
but I need five minutes more.

The first DreamWard Bound in November

success

Well, I had another crazy week. This was a different kind of crazy than most weeks are though. It was the week of Halloween and my birthday. This being the case I tried to get every thing that I needed to do for my blog and YouTube channels done on Monday. I did get the videos done edited and uploaded to YouTube, but did not write that much. Thankfully I took the Wednesday off of my day job and was able to write a bit after my Birthday dinner.

Thursday and Friday were exclusively dedicated to my work’s haunted house that I helped with and was in. I got to work around 8 on Thursday stayed until 11, which meant I got home at midnight just to wake up at 5:45 to go back in. After work on Friday I went out with my friends, because it was Halloween until 1.

I find it funny that I was complaining a bit about being tired and drained, but honestly I felt like I was in a production again, so was actually pretty happy. I loved the staying up late, getting things ready and trying out acting things. I never really was a creepy character before so it was fun to improv the little haunted house scene I was in.

I actually can’t wait until I work like that more. I really do enjoy building and creating with a group, then getting ready to act (although it was only a work haunted house), then actually making people react. It was fun. I always have fun when I do that type of thing.

That is all I can think to update you on now, so here is the list of things you should read or watch.

To Do: (A Poem)

This is a short weekly update post. If you want these longer or shorter let me know.

Myself (A Poem)

poetry

I’m going to reach down deep
to pull something up.
I will whisper now
while I learn how to shout.
I will stop myself
to become myself,
because with every dream
there is a struggle.
When you try to turn
you dreaming
into your reality
you must sacrifice
to get everything.
You must give away
to see your dreams in reality.
So, I will fight against myself,
push what I want now down
and pull up what I am meant to have.
I will control who I am,
to become who I want to be.
I will whisper, ‘keep going,’
so I can shout, ‘I made it.’
Always reminding myself
my dreams will be reality.

Some days you just have to remind yourself that you can do it. The road may be hard to get to where you want to go, but you can do it.  You can face and beat any struggle, challenge, or obstacle if you know and believe you can.

One day I will prove that to you, by my life, til then keep on journeying on with me.

Wind me up (Song as Poetry)

poetry

Song

A Song is an expression of a poet’s personal emotions, meant to be sung. Lyrics in a song contain verses (lines that make up a song; sung poem) and a chorus (a repeating verse in a song {a refrain}.)

Wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show
’cause I am here then I’m there
never knowing which way to go
So wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show

Oh, I want to live for you;
follow the path laid out.
I want to run with you
and keep on going,
but where did you go.

It’s like you
Wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show
’cause I am here then I’m there
never knowing which way to go
So wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show

I know you are here
I know you are waiting for me
to see you where you stand.
You lead me so mercifully
and I am yours.
These things I know.

Still I feel like you
Wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show
’cause I am here then I;m there
never knowing which way to go
So wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show

Maybe it’s me
maybe I lose sight of all you are
That seems more correct by far
That I stray and look away
I run and run right pass you.

Yes, I
Wind me up and let me go
turn me around so watch the show
’cause I am here then I’m there
never knowing which way to go
So wind me up and let me go
turn me around so watch the show

Wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show
’cause I am here then I’m there
never knowing which way to go
So wind me up and let me go
turn me around and watch the show

Two Lanturne poems… Look Up

poetry

Lanturne

The Lanturne is a five-line verse shaped like a Japanese lantern with a syllabic pattern of one, two, three, four, one.

Sun
rises
over the
blue sky so high
sigh.

Touch
the sky
with your dreams
love your future
dream.

Since this was a short and sweet I wrote two.

Let me know what you think. Comments are always welcomed.

As a friendly reminder I am on vacation, so I am not doing my regular DreamWard Bound update post.Â
